My name is Dawn Hollins and I live in Tucson, Arizona where the desert is filled with beautiful cacti, critters and mountains which embrace gorgeous sunsets. My soul is filled with the warmth of the Southwest as I create pieces of Art using clay, tin, wood and many treasures.
My love for working with clay has lead me to hand build pottery. I enjoy creating whimsical Little Pottery Homes, decorative Cactus, sweet Animals and other items for your home or yard.
I enjoy working with tin, tin cans, tin roofing ~ cutting, hammering, nailing it down onto wood or using the tin freely for decorations, statement pieces or embellished on sun catcher/wind chimes.
I love to see spiritual imagery. When I see old missions and churches, it just brings peace to me. I enjoy making altars/retablos/nichos to honor Madonna and Child or to honor loved ones. I use this imagery and mix it up with Mexican Traditions. I work with reclaimed wood, metal, and tin as bases and embellish them with found treasures, handcrafted tin, paint, bottle caps and other recycled and repurposed items.
I try to do many DIY projects in my home to make it special, unique and bring warmth. For me, there is no better place to be, as in a place I love to call home. Some DIY I put in my Blog. Take a look, get ideas, be creative. It’s just the way I see things ~ through Dawn’s Eye.
